Just curious a friend of mine has a stock one, I think 2000. Which should win if both are manual? My tib is stock when speaking of performance

yea it is a common misconception that cai's add 10+hp it is not true. depending on what mods you already have it may add up to 10hp in certain parts of the powerband.

Yep, just going by the numbers from different reviews I've read, the Civic Si has a bit of an advantage. 0-60 in 7.6 vs 8.3 for the tibby.

I raced one on the way home from work and he'd just slightly pull away from me, then I'd recatch him at about 75mph. We'd hit another light (I was following him) and off we go again. Got about 4 good runs in and I'd lose a car length or 2 before catching back up at speed.

I think a CAI might be enough to keep you pretty level. Also if you're a better driver, you can win it <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> The civic guy I raced had a good launch.

it is always easy to find a race here, usually takes about 30 minutes but usually can get one. I think I am a fairly descent driver and here is a lil story to back it up.

About a year ago a friend of mine had a 99 dodge ram, same version as my dad has. Both manual, same engine, same everything. Well, we decided to race them, In my dad's I won by about .5 carlenghts, then we switched cars and I won by about the same amount. I have raced slightly faster cars in the ford probe I used to have and kept up with them as much as the car would allow. not saying I am a perfect driver or anything and definately not pro good but I feel I can hold my own

2kwagon...they don't. Rudy was saying that the Civic SI has 160 hp. 2k tibs only have 140.

If u get a REAL GOOD RAM air system, u might get good power, but regular just add like 5-7 HP...ahhh i wish it did more...

Given equal drivers, the Si SHOULD win. However...give the tiburon driver the advantage, and you stand a chance.

Give it a shot, you have a 20+ ft lbs torque advantage, which you should be able to translate into a lead...keeping it is another story...

Leave it to Random to Needlessly complicate things.

SI's got 160 hp but 0~60 and 1/4 is SLOWER than 150hp turbocharged beetle. i think 1/4 for an si was 15.9 or 16.1
my point, they are slow

If I have more torque then I definately have a chance cause I thought torque was where the speed actually was, atleast low end. However I know their 0-60 is faster but .2 or .3 seconds doesn't mean alot when some drivers can't drive well, I think I could hold my own against one. Also, dual celeron do you ever have anything positive to say about hyundai?
