I was going down a nice long straight strech of highway during the day yesterday doing about 70 when a Jetta (think was a 98) came flying up behing me so I just pulled over and let him by. Though he got stuck behind the only two other cars on the highway with us so I caught up to him and noticed he had atleast an exhaust, so when the car in front of him pulled over we both nailed the gas. I, which suprised myself, was actually catching him and passing him, now I have an exhaust and an intake and coulndn't belive it but I was actually able to beat him. It was a nice switch since every other VW I see I either get beat by or hit (rear ended 2 different 98 black VW Jetta's 2 years apart) well it was a nice win hope to do it again soon!

they only offered the 2.0, VR6 and the TDI (in very limited numbers) in the mk3 body style. and the MK3 VR6 is faster then the current MK4 VR6 (mostly due to the added weight of the mk4). so my guess is mk3 2.0
