How do I get them off. I'm trying to paint the interrior. I allready did the entire console and lower stearing collum shroud. Now for the door pannels and dash. I will nedd help on both. I got everything off the door, I even figured out how to take the window crank off (thanks Doc!!!!!) but after all that was off i was stuck at the door handle (the one that opens the door from the inside). I got the obvious screw out, but now what? It still wont come off. Let me know, thanks!!!!

When i took the door panels off my 97 I had the same problem, after you get everything else taken off the panely I had to carfully pull the door panel out until i could get my hand up underneath it, there is then a clip on the back of the door handle that conects it to the mechanism, after that clip is removed the panel should come off. I'm not sure how different are doors are but this is what i had to do to mine.

I prefer to take the road less traveled.....but now where the hell am I?

Ok Morgasm,

Is the inside door handle that opens the door loose? If it is good. If not you need to push it forwards and backwards till it loosens up. Once loosened you can do 2 different things:

1: tilt the door opener in such a way it will push through the hole in the door (assuming you have loosened the door panel from the plastic clips) Oh yah take out the bolts in the arm wrests as well!!! Once it is pushed through take and push the door frame up and it should pop right off of the door.

2: Pull out the door handle and look at, I think they are pink colored clips holding a metal rod into them. Undue the pink colored clips. I believe you push in toward the door to get the lock feature of them off so you can pull the metal bars out of them. Be careful, if you brake one of them then you need to buy the whole assembly it cost around $48 (approximately). I learned the hard way myself. Hope this helps.

sort of, just wanted to give my 2 cents. Didn't want him breaking anything like I did.
