I keep hearing everone saying that the 4-1 are "better" than the 4-2-1. This is not completely true. While the 4-1 will help more in the mid/upper rpms & the 4-2-1 will help in the lower/mid it is really not that much of a difference AS LONG AS THE TUBING IS THE SAME DIAMETER. I have seen various dynoes of other cars where they tested 4-1 vs 4-2-1 headers and the difference was usually only 1hp. In fact the 4-2-1 DC headers tested a higher max hp(& torque) vs the 4-1 DC headers on an Integra GS-R. It is almost the same as putting an exhaust on your car that is too big. If the primaries are too big they will not scavenge the exhaust gases as well. If you are building a car that will have ALL the n/a mods you should go for the 4-1 since you will obvious be racing your car so you will want that extra upper rpm hp. On a street car that will maybe have the basics(I/H/E) you could just get the 4-2-1 and save a little cash. This is my .02, take it as you will.
