went to a Aussy car dealer website and they had them for sale as stock units. Its a 2000 as our car was design for the 4wd rally version. This was 6mths back so dont have that website, it was amazing, its another project. My car I want to drop the 2 in but for a friends he wants to go 4wd or rather awd if thats the case.

Awd accent, now thats sweet. Do you know the torque split for the f/r wheels, or is it like the honda crv's systems, where its fwd until the fronts starts to slip, and then it gives power to the rear. If its primarily a rwd, that would be sweet, i'd disconnect the front and so big smokey burnouts in my accent

i would assume if its based off the wrc version of our wonderful lc's, then its prolly close to if not exactly a rally car setup ...dumbed down im sure tho..made cheaper. ..or rather are our lc's just dumbed down gimpy versions of the wrc accents?

Well, Hyundai Australia IS considering making a 2 litre turbo 4wd Accent for competition in the 2002 Australian Rally Championship.

The car however will be strictly for competition, and will not make the public streets.

As they have now effectively banned WRC's from competing in our domestic series, it will basically be a Group N and 2 litre FWD championship. The organisers have to find some other way to get more than just Mitsubishi Lancers and WRX's in teh competition, so they have devised a Group N Prototype Class.

It basically allows any manufacturer to take one of the small/medium sized cars, do a lot of underside and chassis modifications and bolt in a WRX or Lancer engine and running gear.

The cars will however be stricly for limited rally competion use, and not offered for sale, or suitable for everyday road use.

But if you had enough spare change yourself, you could always have a go yourself.....

Cheers
Bretton

Well a hyundai will never be really fast wytch, so i'd be happy being able to do power slides, doughnuts, and burnouts. At least the car would be somehwhat fun.

Bretton I thinks refering to a 2 litre Turbo 4WD's, based on the Elantra/Tiburon motor with Santa Fe 4WD. There is one other project in aus, is Toni Rigoli 2ltr 4wd project, http://www.rigoliracing.com.au/accent.html, which runs a 2.0lt VR-4 and GSR gearbox. Thats be sik, theres so many bolt ons for the 2.0lt VR-4, but damn $40,000 au the project will cost in total. There still waiting for the guy from korea to get back 2 them, but so far $20,000 spent on it.

You don't think a Hyundai Accent with a 1.5ltr that runs 9's is fast?

How about my plans to have a steet legal Hyundai accent in the 11's?

Don't ever say it can not be made fast cause with a little knowhow it can be done.
