Hello,

I just found this board when searching for some info on my car. I have the 2007 Elantra and I live in upstate NY. I found this past week that the car SUCKS in the snow. Would putting snow tires on the car help or is it just the car that stinks in the snow? Thanks.

Snow tires will help greatly. I'd recommend getting 4 snow tires on dedicated wheels. That way you can rotate them about to extend their life. Also, each wheel will grip roughly the same in inclement weather with 4 snows.

I have a 99 that gets around pretty well with snow tires. The recent snowstorm saw me doing fine in the deep snow without ABS or traction control.

Also, the traction control will be more effective with snow tires.
