Looking at buying a 99 with a blown head gasket. Supposedly there was an audible hissing sound coming from behind cylinder 1. Shop diagnosed it as a bad head gasket. Possible warped head. The owner has the head off already. Original timing belt. What should I look for? Is the head a hard job? Can these heads be decked? Thanks.

Hyundai says that their cylinder heads shouldn't be machined. . Should be crack checked and pressure tested. And checked for straightness.
