I have a 97 Elantra SE. I got my car to be different. Different that is then the Honda guys. Soon after buying my carI found out how hard it was to find parts for it.
I've been shopping for a new car the last few weeks. I almost got an Integra Type-R. Till last night when I was looking around on the net. I stumbled onto some guys homepage. My heart started to race. I hit the jackpot. Parts every where as I followed links to site after site. I tried to have a custum turbo done but it was going to cost 7,000-10,000 dollars. Two things. I need to know what will produce more HP Turbo or Supercharger for a 1.8ltr Elantra. Also I need to know where I can find a MPS bodykit and how much is it?

A turbo can give you much more hp on a 1.8L, but be ready to pay for it. HP isn't cheap.

As for an MPS kit, they're not available for the Elantra.

your a moron if you dont buy the R. seriously.theres absolutely no comparison between the two cars. you can make your 1.8l fast, but it will never be an R. i dont care if you put every suspension mod you can get your hands on onto your car, it will NEVER be an R.

moral of the story: if you can afford an R. buy an R.

Actually the Tib is only .04/.05g's (depending on mag) away from the Type-R in stock handling. Porsche designed the Tibs suspension. I bet you can make a Tib handle just as good if not better than a Type-R. I've been in a Type-R and it is very nice but I wouldn't pay $25K for it.

well, what do you see more of at the autox? ITR's at the top of their class? or tibs?

it's not just suspension, the engine, tranny, suspension, light weight all working in harmony. theres nothing in the hyundai lineup that can even remotely keep up with a properly driven ITR, not to say that hyundai couldn't do it, just that there isn't a car in their lineup (and i REALLY REALLY doubt the 03 tib is going to be any different) that was made to compete with it.

and he's got an elantra... not a tib =)

But I do have to agree if i had the choice between the Elantra and a true Type R Teg I would have to go with the Type R.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>

If these were your choices then I would have to say that either you couln't afford the Type R or you didn't know what you were passing up or It was not a True Type R (just a Teg with TypeR stickers)<img src=/images/forums/snitz/oogle.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>
