I started my 2000 accent today and the engine reved and then the check engine light came on solid. Then went out. I gave it gas which produced a turbulent response and then it came back on, now go off. There appears to be nothing scrapping or rubbing and no knocks. Oil is fine coolant fine, battery good. Any ideas? Its going in tomorrow to the shop hopefully its under warranty.

Since it's under warranty, go and get a scan done. Usually the Accent will not store any codes unless the CEL stays on, but have them check it anyways. Could be something as minor as a loose gas cap, but when it's under warranty let them do it. I have a program for my laptop that reads codes through a cable to the ecu. When your car is off warranty, it's a great tool.

We did a group buy on the old FXtreme site, and got them cheap. I can't remember the exact price, but if you do a search on the archives you will likely find the price breaks for getting folks together to buy them. Otherwise, single purchase prices are on the site (the link is in my last post).

Send them back to Bosch, I think they had a money back guarantee.

The NGK they put in the car are far better than the platnum+4 and cheaper. platinums are 16.99*2 and the cheap NGK are 4.99*1. Plus I called Bosch they say they will not do anything as that if a plug fails "it should fail during the first couple days" mine lasted a impressive 1.5mths. wow what a deal.
