It can be done rather easily.

I would also recomend the Tib tranny too and you will need the Tib ECU or a piggy back ECU.

The motor and tranny will bolt straight in.
All you have to do then is figure out how to wire the ECU.
I would then look into stronger axles.

We will be making a kit for the x3 Accents (95-99) and then we will possibly look into a LC (2000+) kit in the future.

Hey hey all this mighty sound strange but why does evryone one say that you must get stonger Axels? that kinda scares me!

I know andy rosses 1800 16v Elantra/Beta Accent can drag hours after hours and also top end the car for hours and he has never had any axel trouble!

Has anyone else had trouble with the Stock Accent axels after doing the swop

I didn't say it was a must.

I simply stated that I would look into it. There are several that are still running stock axles and you may do fine on stocks but then again you may not. No one has been running on stock accent axles with the beta motor for any long period of time that I know of.

holy crap cam_boy, why are you going after auto.....
all he said is that it would be a good idea to look into it, meaning that he wants the best for the car.... it doesn't hurt too look into stronger axles

Mach5; I don't think Cam_Boy is going after Autobot, I think that he is really worried, just like I am because I already have the motor in my garage. I got axles off of the Tiburon, but we want to know if it is an absolute "MUST" or your car will screw up? Cause everyone says it is a must, but I'm not too sure if they have ever done the swap or it's just "the word on the street".So, does anybody reaaly know from experience? (Not saying that Autobot is wrong, but other opinions from people who actually done the swap wouldn't hurt either).

Because the accent axles were not made to handle the power that the beta produces. They may end up handling the hp and torque from a n/a beta just fine. I do not know if it will or not and that is why I would look into it. I will probably run stock axles myself at first but will look into tib axles down the road. Believe me when I say I am not trying to steer peeps wrong cause I do not stand to make any money off of someone getting new axles or getting their old ones made stronger. And even after we start selling the kit we will probably make it available with or without the axles and the price of the kit with axles will still be right around the price of the kit that other companies offer that do not have the axles.

I hope this clears it up for you. I did not say it was a must but just because Andy runs his with stock axles does not mean they will last for ever. I do believe his swap is fairly new so who knows what might happen tomorrow. Besides I am planning on going turbo in the future too.

You would have to take them to a shop to have it done. But it would probably be cheeper to get the Tib ones and have them shortened.

As far as what is exactly done I realy do not know. But it is not something that just any shop can do.

Hey autobot....my car is in getting the swap right now and i asked the guy doing the swap about the axles and he said the stock Accent axels will and should hold the new engine and such...and he doesn't see how the Tibby axles can be shortened just cus of their build...the guy doing my swap knows his **** too...when i took my car in he was workin' on a 240SX that he ran 159MPH at Walkins Glenn on a fairly stock engine...so let's hope my Accent comes out close to that...lol...

You also drive a LC accent and we are talking about X3 axles. It is my understanding that the axles are different on the two cars and we have always stated that it will not be necessary on the LC accent. As far as the axles on the X3 go I realy do not know at this point for sure if you will have to swap them out or not. I have heard from reliable sources that it is necessary to swap them out on the x3 and I have heard from reliable sources that you do not. That is why I would look into it.
