Ok, so my buddy at works thinks his Echo is quick as hell. He <i>claims</i> that it has the Celica GT-S motor.
We get talking about handling and whatnot, so after work we take our cars through some twisties. His car is completely stock, while I have Shark Racing front and rear strut bars on mine. Needless to say, I took him through the corners, no problem. <img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>
After that we happen to line up at a stoplight <img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>. He pulls forward a little and revs his motor, so I inch up and get ready. Now, we both have completely stock motors, so keep this in mind. The light turns green and I launch at about 3500RPM, squealing the tires for about 1/2 second and taking off (as fast as a stock Accent can anyways <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>). He squeals his tires for about 1 1/2 seconds, then he's off as well.
Through first gear I did nothing but pull. Second gear is the same. During 3rd gear he starts inching on me, pulling closer. Towards the end of 3rd he's pulling pretty hard. Into 4th I go and he passes me soon after. Now we're going about 80mph, so I won to 80mph. Up to 100mph and about 5th gear he got his rear bumper up to my front bumper.
I'm guessing that my 92hp Accent beat his 108hp Echo due to my shorter gears. That would explain why he couldn't catch me until 80mph.
Anybody else have any ideas<img src=icon_smile_question.gif border=0 align=middle>

I drive a slow car.
0 to 60 in 11 seconds (look out!)
