I have a sonata auto . i have raced a accent and they are fast.I may have won but he kept up pretty good with a v6.On the straight line there is no match but it was bi lane country twisting roads the size and off line torque can be tough to beat and as i found out can be quiet a handfull till the road straightens out then he could see me pull away.......and my lights fading

So what I think Rudy and I are trying to say is that Accents are not fast, it is just that sonatas are slow.

I got to race an Accent GT (1.6 DOHC) a couple years ago at the track with I/E, I remember him pulling 17.5-17.6 all day if that means anything? I'd like to see one w/ a Tib swap in such a small/lightweight chassis!

not to be anal but the 1.6 didn't come out untill 2001.. the GT was a 1.5 DOHC, I ran a 17.058 at the track at best and close to it in the 1.6 DOHC (not counting the time i hit the damn water trap and spun tires like crazy)

VTC_Civic I am planning on doing the swap possibly as soon as January.
Also 4doorGl aka Rob (the site owner) is planning swapping the tib engine too.

The funny thing about the accent is that the Tib engine 2.0L is a straight drop in to certain accents.

Accents are fun to drive!Nice handling, easier to flick around corners but lacking seriously(again!)at the top range...no matter, the roads here are small and a lightweight chassis and good starting torque afrer a turn is all the difference if you are too lazy to heel-and-toe...HEHEHE

DOC!You gots anything on wether anyone out there makes the Accent WRC2 kit avalible to the public?I'd like to put some on several of my customer's cars and have them park next to the Evo club for a taste of things to come in a few years...hehehe

Not sure if this question was directed toward me or wytchdctr. I know of a WRC kits from ATH, but can't remember their site... As far as being the WRC2 kits, I haven't seen any yet.

Thanks Doc! Guess I'll just have to play the waiting game and have the cash handy to snap up a few of the kits if and when they're released. I just hope they revise the wings cuz the WRC wings look like somthing out of a kindergarten kid's project,I hope they make the road-going wings more agressive and unique...just to let everyone know Hyundai's in on the performance market and the future of Japmobiles will be a hard-fought one, in the dirt,in the streets and on the track!
