I let the battery die in my 2001 Accent while I was working on the fenders (going widebody). Now, it won't start.

I tried jump starting it, but the starter turns over slowly then clicks and quits.
I have used both a fully-charged booster battery and a battery from another car.
Neither have started the car.
Any suggestions?

dead starter, ghetto way to start it if your car is a manual,

let it roll on a descending road, put it in 2nd or 1st, with key on ignition, soon as car gains about 15-20 mph, slowly let go of the clutch, this will help the spinning clutch disc rotate the flywheel to fire up the engine

re: after i month, my 2001 Accent won't start

Dear TAK82,

Thank you for your advice; I appreciate your desire to help.

My car is an automatic, therefore the procedure you described would not necessarily work.

Not to worry, though, another forum member, 187sks, also wrote and told me how to start the vehicle.

I was able to start it this morning. I took the car to a service center to have it checked. It was just a drained battery.

Sincerely,

tron1
