Hi Guys, I am a little new to the aftermarket performance scene, but not new to ripping my accent GT apart, as it has had that many problems.
To get one thing straight, I still owe 9 grand on the car, and It has a brand new clutch and transmission in the car already, so I am not going to abandon my idea, or sell the car. Its not an option.
What I have to do, since my Timing Belt Broke (hyundai parts for ya) and I am looking at a $400 or so bill to rebuilt the Heads, is to sweeten the engine a bit with a fast port and polish, with a camshaft upgrade free of charge scince they have to rip the thing apart anyways to replace the bent valves from the piston impacts.
Question: Where can I get Camshafts at a reasonable price? HVE.com.au is in the 1000 dollar area, plus shipping, plus duty. Get real Hve.
Otherwise HDK has em, but I am not sure if for my car, I am emailing em to find out.
Ideas? Comments? please let me know, I am open to any options, as long as a positive responce to repairing my engine.
I hate to be hostile to a point, but I posted a similar topic at Hyundai tuner, and I was reponded with "do a tibby swap". Well, I along with another 1000 people wish we had the money and can dream, but it aint happening. my post was not answered in any way, and in the mean time, my baby is broken, and I want it fixed so badly. The bus Sucks.
Thanks in advance for helpfull answers, suggestions and Ideas. be sure, this summer, the sleeper of all time will be out pushin 200 hp.
Thanks <img src=/images/forums/snitz/cool.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>
