Does anybody happen to know the specs (amount of teeth/missing teeth) of the crank sensor gear for an Alpha motor, specifically a 1.5 SOHC 1996? A good picture of one would be great.

If im not mistaken the crank sensor gear is the flywheel. Try hmaservice.com they might be able to help, but doubt it. If your having problems with that sensor, its probly your sensor. Or yur starter is searing off some of your teeth on your fly wheel.

hmaservice shows the gear to be separate and the picture/description is unclear. I'm not having any problems, I'm just trying to find out the tooth arraignment for triggering the sensor.

If I am not mistaken there is a missing tooth that signals top dead center.

I've read elsewhere that it may be 58 teeth or 60-2. When I remove the sensor and try and count myself I get something like 50 or so but I may be missing some. It's quite difficult to turn the motor over by hand and watch down the little dark hole.
