Can't wait to see Hec's intake. But in the mean time, here's a cheap CAI made from a modified 92-95 non-turbo Eclipse intake. No flush handle required <img src=/images/forums/snitz/wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

Looks awesome, I can't wait to see Hec's too!

What is that blue connector piece that you have holding both pieces together?

Yea, I got it off of eBay. Guess you can say I was lucky to get it for $21.50 plus shipping. If you do a search on Eclipse Intake right now, most bids are starting off at $30.

I sent an e-mail to the person I bought it off of (I think they were an actual business) to see if they have anymore and get get the same price or a group buy price. I'll let you guys/gals know.

I also heard that Mitsubishi intakes work with Hyundai's. I also heard that the 90-94 Excel have the same intake as I believe older Eclipse's. I don't know what eclipse's but I would believe it since the 90-94 Excel's have mitsu engines.

I think your 'CAI' is more of a 'HAI'. ie Hot Air Induction.

That larger filter will help you with some more flow, but calling it a CAI is an oxymoron.

I think you could build a CAI just like I describe for the X2 guys in my previous post.

anyone who wants a cheap intake check out www.procarparts.com for all the intake needs you could desire. Also air induction is air induction, my girl is using a modded stock airbox with no resonators or silencers whatever they are called and a [email protected] pannel filter. I have the tube located right behind the bottom of the front bumper to the side of the radiator. I cannot fit a filter down there since candice owns an autotragic so my best suggestion to anyone who wants to try this is get a filter with a cold air extension on the end and run something down to the gap between the radiator and splashgaurd or create some sort of heat shield. Hope this helps everybody out. later
