SUP!

found this (and other sites) while searching for resources for MODs on my '02 sonata.

4000 miles of good times so far.

SPECs:
napoli blue base model, Manual trans.

Gunning for for some wheels as my first "adjustment" and there are a few KONIGs that ring my bell. Im taking my time though...the wheels gotta "complement" the styling of the sheetmetal..The wheel finder at tirerack.com has a set that seems to work too, but the old lady wants a Pantiac VIBE for graduation so $1400 for new shoes cuts into her downpayment

eventually an inch or so off of the ride height and a stiffer susp. will be in order. im still searching/waiting for products to become available.

want to go disks all around. (see other post)

engine mods eventally but im all about looks right now..besides i have the same WHINE out of my trans as CHOPS has...so im counting time until it goes south. then itll be SWAP time.

Pics will come, and see me at my other favorite Forums/boards @

Doesnt the 2002 have disc brakes all the way around already? My 1999 Sonata GL V6 does

As far as your wheels and tires, make sure that they are the same exact circumferece as your stock wheels and tires.....If the circumference is any larger or smaller than the stock settings, it'll offset your odometer computer and void the warrenty.......you should be ok with some 18's and some low profiles.......thats what I have on my 2002 Sonata and the total diameter/circumference is the same........

The wife got her 2003 Pontiac Vibe last weekend...have to say; if you have the chance, drive one. (manual trans of course)

nope..

the pokey one..

4cyl w/manual tranny.

its not bad. the suspension is really nice and tight..it reminds me of my friends VW GTi...VERY nimble.

i never got the chance to drive a GT.

but we did drive the 4cyl, auto trans and it was a dog.

AWD im sure is an absolute power thief.

I find this car to be very heavy, and it's response to the driver's command sluggish. It is also underpowered, this car I am forced to drive belongs to my mother, and I use the H-Matic most of the time...it sees only the redline...it is also unsuitable for competition bcause of it's disasterous power to weight ratio....but apart from all this, it's one goddamn TOUGH ba*stard! It can and will eat anything you can throw at it(sensibly of course)and come back for more. The fascia, when adapted to a twin DIN will easily fit a retractable LCD screen and a head unit, or whatever else, and it's sound insulation is bloody top notch! The roadholding is incredible...only under incredible duress will it show signs of breaking away(standard size rims are used)and the brakes are excellent, and under heavy braking the car still remains incredibly balanced!

Dude if you're into crusing around in ABSOLUTE comfort with that special someone then you got propably the second best out there...the best of course being the Granduer XGbut that one's so expensive...the options of sound system are good, and the insulation that is already there makes for sound that is just so damn good!

Enjoy the ride man...go easy with it, and you'll love it!

The base models come with disc/drum unless you get the base model w/V6 then you will get the disc/disc package. GLS and LX get disc all around.
