I am running a zex nitous kit in my 2001 tiburon at 55 hp. zex says if i want to use the 75 hp level i have to retard my timing by 2-4 degrees. The only problem is my car has no distibutor so how the hell do I retard my timing or do I even really have to?
Any info would be very helpfull -- Thanks

Adjustable cam gears adjust the timing of the valves, not the ignition.

There is no way to adjust the ignition a motor with distributorless ignition. The ECU automatically retards timing when detonation is detected.

I suggest you get the summit racing big book catalog. There are several nitrous controlers in there that will allow you to use a larger shot in staged increments or just gradually by rpm, this will allow the ECU to retard the timing automatically.

MSd systems have ignition systems that will alow you to play with the timing, but don't forget to upgrade the fuel system to go past 65 shot.

You don't need pistons and rods for a 75 shot. Just new injectors and fuel pump.

correct sir, i have a friend running a dual stage kit on his neon 50 to 150 and has stock internals. his setup is the crane ignition. he can adjust ignition timing and a dual stage rev limiter on the go. very nice setup. oh and if any questions come, this is the fastest daily driven neon in the world running a low 12 and drives it every day. later

its my girl's car

There are guys running 150 Shots in Puerto Rico. They use the staged/gradual setup. They are running on stock internals...
