I have a 2000 Accent Gsi 12v sohc engine. Yes, it is very slow. Looking at putting in a 2.0 out of a 97 tibby. But for now I am stuck with the 1.5 and its terrible sychronized tranny. It acts terrible when trying to down shift but shift up from 1st to 2nd produces a grind if not warm or when not shifted between 2500-3000rpm. How is the 1.6 Tranny and is it a direct bolt on no mods.

well the car has 60000km on it so its not new and as for putting in engine oil I am looking at putting Redline Tranny fluid in. Any of you guys try the stuff.

Hopper, your tranny sucks, and will always suck. You can put better oil in, the redline is great in my boys mustang. You can even go get that Zmax engine additive, it worked wonders on my old hyundai, but all of that can't replace a good engineered tranny, something hyundai will never figure out.

Do a 5spd conversion when you do the engine swap.

Heres a tip, its a 5spd already, so if i swap it for a 5spd that would do nothing, it has one 1 sychro and yes its sucks extremely. I am looking at a 2.0 swap but for now the fix I think is either redline fluid or maybe a 1.6 tranny or a tibby tranny what do you guess think. Do you know if any mitsu trans work. Maybe one off an evo or something. Heres hoping.

Tib tranny if you plan on doing the 2.0 swap.

I would do them both together you can get the engine, tranny and ecu all together for around $1000+ shipping through KORE.

If you get the engine and everything from KORE, what would the shipping costs be? And for that fact, who would do that kind of install for all of us that couldn't do our own oil change Does anyone know where KORE is based out of?

KORE is based out of Pa
Shipping will probably run about $250 (guessing and depends where you are at)
You will need to find a place to do the install yourself.

Labor should run you about $500 if you have the kit.
You won't need the kit if you have the LC accent.

BTW since you live in Ca it will not be hard to find a place to do the swap for you.
