I got a problem. I recently went to get my exhaust done and after I noticed this buzzing. how do I get rid of that?

My set up as it is right now is: 1. headers 2. 30" reso 3. stock style camero muffler (it's because i ewanted duel tips and also it runs 2.25" pipes.

Please help.:ermm:

i have a header on my eclipse and i noticed a litlle buzzier sound
I noticed a buzz in my exhaust as soon as I fitted my 4-1 header; managed to fix it by installing a resonator (which it appears you have done also).

I suppose maybe give it a few months for some carbon to build up in the pipes, it sometimes tones down a little...is the buzz excessive or slight?

Here's the thing. i got the whole exhaust from Ravinizedkid and when I installed it it had a nice low tone...NO BUZZ. Then I redid the whole thing because: 1. his was an 02' and mine is an 04' so it didn't mach up exactly. It buumped and sat real low. SO I took it in to clean it up and get duel tips. Now also too he had a cat, a glasspack and a dynomax 14" super turbo muffler.
The set up I have now is a 30" reso, and a stock type camero muffler. plus the damn buzzzz.

Could it be that i need to install the cat on it again?
Someone said here that the buzz is caused by the new material that your manifold/headers is made of. The iron stock manifold absorbs the buzz sound but stainless steel reflects it. installing a resonator won't fix it.

you could try to wrap the header with exhaust wrap unless you just want it to look pretty. ravinaziankids' car was also a 4door so that might be why it wasn't perfect.
no his DIDN'T have the buzz. It just had the Cat on it. I'll try to have the cat put back on...maybe thats what absorbed most of the buzz. The stock exhaust manifold has the cat biult into it and IT NEVER buzzed.
I'll try that out. I still would like to hear more ideas of how to get rid of it.
yea i heard his car 2 and there was no buzzing at all, id say throw a cat on it
always put the biggest resinator (usually 20-22inch) on when doing a full exhaust with header. kills the 'buzz'

I did. I have a 30" magnaflow reso installed, PLUS a stock style camero muffler. Oh something i forgot to mention...not sure if it makes a difference but i got rid of the flex pipe and had a SPRING FLANG installed. Just a little FYI.

Again thats the problem. I DID THAT. It still buzzs.:ermm:
Ok figured it out. Now it's prolly something someone already knew but from what i figured out is that small 4banger engines can't handle 2 pipes. At least 2 FUNCTIONAL pipes. The buzzing was caused because there was not enough preasure goingthrough both the pipes so it instead of getting deep and low got higher pitched(the HIGH pitched buzzing I was hearing). I had a 30" reso with a STOCK camero muffler (V6 not V8) it still buzzed. this is what i have now:
1. Flex Flang to replace rotted flex pipe

2. 30" MAGNAFLOW Resonator

3. Dynomax Super Turbo muffler with Offset in/out and center 2.25"

Heres what it looks like from the back:

now for the best part.....the sound:

Let me know what you all think :D
I'm going to post more pictures on my car domin if anyone wants to look

Basicly in short DO NOT PUT TWO I repeat 2 functional Pipes on a 4 cylinder unless you want EXTREAME RICE. I'm talking F.O.B RICE sound. :rambo:

Looking good, hows the car running right now? Do you have a CEL still?
it runs damn good. yeah the CEL is still on but I'm waiting for the simulator and then I should be fine. I still need to get a CAT and have the sensor put in to be legal.
