That 9.0 had better be for the I-4 model. If not I'll call hyundai myself and tell them to fire all of the r&d employees.

I've been told (by Hyundai and others who have driven it) that the 0-60 is closer to low 7s.

I second what Rob has stated above. Look at the facts that thing might not have big HP, but its got some good Torque. No way is it going to do a 0-60 in 9sec.

I thought the 2000+ tibs did 0-60 in like 8.4 seconds or something.

I don't think it's racing that I'm addicted to, it must be the adrenaline rush.

The number is probably estimated for the I-4 (and should be off). The 2000 Tibby was rated 0-60 at 8.1s by Car and Driver or Road and Track (can't remember which)

It definitely better be lower for a 2.7L 6 cyl

this will maybe clear some of it up....
quote:
from autotrader...
Hyundai says it doesn''t have a U.S.-spec power figure for the tiburons first ever V-6 yet, although it's based on the Sante Fe's 181-hp powerplant. But its going to be substantially more than the 2.0L/140-hp I-4 which remains the standard choice. Hyundai claims the 0-62-mph time of a bit more than 8 sec for the 165-hp Euro-spec V-6 tiburon.

I know but i was just quoting the zine..., wonder why they say 9 seconds on 0-60 but the euro spec with 165-hp or so runs 0-60 in a little over 8
