I own a 1992 Hyundai Excel. I need help with ideas on mods I can do to my car...someone help me!

How powerful would my car be now and how much would it be after mods or what's it's potential?

PS> I understand that my Excel has a Mitsubishi engine or heads from a 4g15b

They have suspension and brakes.

You can build your own intake.
Go to any Muffler shop and have them build you a cat back exhaust.

You can also swap in the 4g63T from an Eclipse if you want.

This site used to have intake piping you could buy but it has changed and I don't know if they still do.

http://gmpperformance.com

If it is not listed then give them a call or email them. They may still have some.

Shark Racing now has some mods too, they're offering the ATH Bodykit. Shark and HVe both have Strut bars for the excel, RPW has short shifters and engine upgrades. Hey Jaco, do you have Short shifter in you Excel? I was thinking of ordering a Rally Spec one from RPW.

Ive got the hve quickshift. Id be interested if anyone had the RPW Rally spec shifter. Its meant to be an improved version of the HVe shifter that reduces sideways movement as well as the forward and backwards movement.

How good does the Quickshifter feel to you? I have been very very tempted to order it. I want the rally spec one though (Thinking of rallying the car)

the Rally Spec quickshifters do not go all that well with the early excels.
i do like it, but it takes a while to get used to it. gearing down from 3rd to 2nd can be a bitch, and it's sometimes hard to get back into 1st. it's really stiff.
before ordering it, ask RPW for more details about fitting it on to early excels.
but the rampod with the K&N filter is GREAT, i can really feel the extra power, and it sounds great

I don't know about mods for the x1, but I do know that there is some body kits out there. 1 is at http://www.erebunicorp.com

There is probably lowering springs for your car, and I'm sure some wheels. I knwo alot of mexican's that put chrome or gold accents on the x1. But I don't know where they get all of that stuff at...

What I would do is go to ebay and check out if anyone else all ready has upgrades for the Excel. Then I would go to www.t-h-c.org, go to links, go to aftermarket, and then shop around through all the performance shops there. I know for a fact that HVE has stuff for the Excel, but I'm not too sure about any of the other places. Ohh yeah, RPW does all Mitsubitshi, Hyundai, and Chrysler products, e-mail them and see what swaps you can do. Maybe other manifolds or heads from Mitsubishi fit your early Hyundai.Hope that was any help.
