The shifter comes with the short throw shifter, a billet aluminum shift knob, and three stickers. The instructions are very detailed and you don't have to remove the entire assembly from the car to install the shifter.

If anyone is interested, you can call the toll free number listed in the pic...If you get their answering machine, leave a message with your name and number and he will call you back as soon as he can (he does this part time). He has two more ordered, and should have them later this week, early next week (if demand is great enough, he is planning on ordering 6 more in the next week or so to have ready to ship out immediately)...He is selling them for $119.95, plus shipping (and tax if in Ohio).

This is a direct bolt on, correct? No cutting needed? Also, what's the throw rate like? Is it a shorter throw front to back, and side2side, or just front to back? And one last question...the shift knob...is that a screw on type, or is it one of the usual knobs that tightens up by using the little allen screws?

My thoughts exactly...I have never heard of this brand of short shifter fot the Tib, where is he getting them from?

B&M is probably one of the best short shifters you can get.

We'll be getting a demo shifter in a few weeks here at HP.Com and we'll include a full write up on them.

Yes, it is a direct bolt in, no cutting needed. You don't even have to remove the shifter's base plate to install this.

The knob is a simple screw on, no allen bolts.

As for the throw, I do know it is shorter front to back, but don't know yet from side to side as this was the first one that arrived and was sold Saturday to a friend of mine, and his car is in the shop because of an idiot driver. I have the SR short shifter, so I don't know if or when I will be switching (paid $100 for the SR, don't really want to throw another $120 for another short shifter when I already have one), but as soon as Tom gets his car back, we're installing it, and I'll let you know about the throw front to back and side to side.

Correct me if i am wrong, but isnt that the same b&m company you see in like every tuned mustang and camero in the world... They shifting accesories are pretty damn good. (see i am in tennesse where ******* still manage to get 800+ hp with N/A tuning) and they really piss me off. Because its a hell of a lot cheaper to make a 302, or a 350 fast than a 2.0 litre... hehe but we can turn, and we save face that way.

Yep, it's the same B&M that's made a shifter for virtually any domestic car with a V8 in it for years.

Is this available for the 2001 Tib?

It's available for the 1997-2001 Tiburon and 1996-2000 Elantra.

The 2001 Tiburon shifter is a bit different, so it has a different part number.

Well, got word from the guy that bought the one in the picture...it reduces the throw front-to-back by about half, and the side to side by about 1/3.

This shifter is freakin awsome! It took about fifteen minutes but that's because I had my car in first when I tried to install it. "Note to self" leave car in neutral next tme you install a SS. It makes it much easier to line up with the side to side piece. I think if I had been able to just drop it in it would have only taken about five minutes. Not only does the throw and side to side movement get reduced but the shifter height is reduced as well.

Hey Reid I'll bring my car down to the shop this weekend so you guys can snap some pics and stuff if you want. Also my 'cus is gonna bring her 2K1 so we can test it out. See you sat!

ROB! Happy holidays! Any chance that the B&M will fit a 2001 Elantra? Aren't the 2000 E's also considered an "XD" Elantra? TIA man
