Hey Doc

Sometimes i wake up in the morning with a REALLY bad cramp on my right leg between my knee and my ankle, (im forgetting the name of the muscle on the backside)

Anyways.. im not sure that its very bad.. or i just get pissed because it wakes me up.

Why could this be?

I was diagnosed with high cholesterol.. could that be it?

I think im a 155. Im 5'9 and weigh about 160, im also only 22 but i eat like a horse.

Any ideas or suggestions?

You might need more iron and magnesium in your diet.

Cholesterol levels above 200 are considered high. For your height and weight you aren't overweight either.

You can go in for blood tests to make sure your iron levels are normal.

Sorry to dig this up, but I get the same thing that Jaws is talking about. It's like a really bad charlie horse in the calf muscle. I don't get it often, but I tend to get it in spurts. IE - I'll get it zero times for 6 months then all of a sudden a couple times a night for 2 or 3 days. It wakes me up to, scares the crap outta' my wife. :)

Anyways, I've never really been concerned about it. I do notice that after it happens, my calf feels really weak and kind of drained for a day or so.
