The opinions on this are going to varry from person to person.

Personally I like Castrol and Fram make a godd filter.

If you live where it is Cold then it is a good idea to use synthetic atleast during the winter.

Royal Purple...very good, and expensive.
Off the shelf, Mobil1 trisynthetic oil all the way.

NEVER buy a FRAM. somebody post the link to the oilfilterstudy page...they are crap. I have even heard folks report driveability IMPROVEMENTS when getting rid of a NEW FRAM filter. Hyundai OEM is good, Mobil1 or purolator, wix are all good filters.

Thanks for all the help... is there an online store to buy the filter? The store near me has nothing but crap lined up next to crap on the shelves.

Purolaters are good too.

Viscosity difference for the types of weather and season (hot/cold).

By the way, I am over in New Jersey too. I live in Basking Ridge (Somerset County). Where are you at?

You can order Mobil1 filters from www.autozone.com or www.mobil1.com. They are usually 10 - 15 bucks.

I dunno, i think if purolator is good stuff, i'll get it next oil change (i.e.>next weekend) over the Mobil 1 filter. The mobile filter just doesn't seem to be working as well as the hyundai filter or the honduh civic OEM filter (its the same part number, and it was free thanks to mysilvertib ). The purolator is cheaper too, well except for the free filters.

I like Purolater Pure One filters and Royal Purple 10/30. My break in oil is QS 10/30. For most conditions, 10/30 is probably the best overall weight.

how many miles? if it's got lot of miles, no synthetic....
for filters, u can use either HYUNDAI's or HONDA's filter(FILTER, accord, odyssey, civic(NOT 2001 aANY HONDA nd up), INSIGHT, prelude....)
I used them ever since i bought the car and still uses them since i can get my hands of them for free :)

He worked at a honduh dealer.

BTW, oil changed today with another 4 quarts of mobil 1 and trying out a purolator filter. So far, the honduh filter seems like the best of the ones i've tried (hyundai OEM, Mobil One filer, and the honduh OEM). I'll let you know about the purolator in 3000 miles. I will never buy the Mobil One oil filter again tho, my oil was so dirty, it wasn't even funny as i burned myself gettijng the oil filter off, lol.
