Oil is oil. I have been chaning my oil for years with either Quaker State or Castrol normal 10W-30 in the winter, 10W-40 in the summer and never had a problem. I never tried the synthetic stuff. How is it? I believe you dont have to change it as often?

What ever oil you get make sure it's good brand name stuff, if you go synth remember there is no turning back. Also synth oil is more slippery, so yeah it coats better but leaks easier. I think the hyundai oil is castrol natural synth blend and if the dealer uses the real hyundai oil thats actually good stuff. DO NOT USE CHEAP UKNOWN CRAP!!!!!!! also synth is not so good when you consider you do have to change the oil every 3,000 miles/5,000km it's not worth the price. As I also said one you do go synth it's not a good idea to go back, if your car has had synth for 3-5 changes already it readjusts to it, going back is bad.

Hehe, Get Synthitic if your a racer, or if your using turbo, Ive been usin' synth ever since I purchashed the elantra just because I wanted to turbo it and race it. It will inscrease your engine's longitivity. But, its very expensive, You also dont need a oil change every 3000 miles with a Hyundai, Rob, has had is accent for like what 16k miles and only changed it twice? Something like that, not sure on the details. But yes your right once you get synth, don't go back to reg.

Well Amsoil claims a 25,000 mile/1 year oil change with normal driving (bi-annual filter change). I use Mobil 1 right now (not much longer) and change it every 6,000m.

I use QS syth. Some say oil is oil but if you are really into your car then you will notice a diff with full syth. It stay cleaner longer,no black on the stick.
Pay the extra $ your engine will love you for it. Don'forget your oil change.....

Change your oil and filter at 500 total miles, 1500 total miles, and 3000 total miles, then every 3000 after that.

For the first 6000 use regular dino oil. It allows the engine to "bed" and "break-in" better than slippery synthetics.

Then go with the best oil you can afford. If you are a college student, $8 a quart for amsoil is outta your reach for oil changes every 3000 miles.

As long as you change your oil frequently, and change the filter at the same time, and keep your oil topped off (but don't over fill) just about any oil will do the trick.

I like mobil1 full synthetic, but everyone has their own favorite.

Leave it to Random to Needlessly complicate things.

AMSOIL....i know i don't use it my seld cuz i'm not that rich but i have seen someone using it and it's effect is INCREDIBLE
1994 Ford Probe GT with 170,000 miles....No smoke, just started modding at 170,000, V6 pulls strong, as good as new.

AMSOIL

FINALLY I AM ABLE TO CHANGE MY SIG!!!

I just changed to Amsoil this weekend, and also used their engine flush. My car feels like new again, it's sweet (I'm sure it's the flush more than the oil) I have almost 20K miles on my car.

I know a guy that race-builds imports in my area, and he says to always break in a car with regular oil due to the natural minerals and stuff. On the first or second change go to synthetic. The only kind he will use is Mobil 1 synthetic, no other brand.

I don't think AGIP is necessarily a better oil or anything. Ferrari chose it because AGIP is an Italian based company.

i just had my first oil change...i wasn't able to do it at 500 miles like random suggested...but i got it done at 721 today...pennzoil 10w40...i figger i'll do that until it hits 6000, when i'll go completely synthetic. i used full synth in my old probe when it had over 200k miles...it prolly saved that car...or had a part in that.
