Hey I was just wondering what some of your opinions would be on the best enigne to swap into a 99-01 sonata? I have heard something about people putting a mitsu engine in but not sure on the details. Im still pretty stupid when it comes to engines <img src=/images/forums/snitz/approve.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

Im thinking this...

2.7L V6 - 6-speed

The '99-01 share the same engine as the '02 as in the 2.4L I4.

Also the 2.5L and the 2.7L are both DELTA class engines so engine mounts should be the same etc.

6-speed why? Cause its being used on the 2.7L already through the Tiburon.

All together that would make one sick car, especially when aftermarket starts becoming available for the Tiburon 2.7L.

That is the only engine I would go with, if you want a Hyundai engine.

Not sure about Mitsu but no the 2.0L will not fit in the '99-01 Sonata.

To be honest, I think this idea presented above would be something I would look into, if it weren't for the fact that I want a coupe for the next couple years of my life.
