so me and matt are getting a little adventurous here, we want to do the hood scoop ourselves. its going to involve cutting a hole in the hood, and securing it down. i think that part we can figure out easy enough, but i would like some tips on molding it so it is flush with the rest of the hood. any tips on how to go about doing this? or has anyone put a functional scoop on and could give me some tips?

If the scoop is any kind of plastic, you need a way to permanently secure it to the sheetmetal. I don't like this kind because most people wind up having problems later on because the seam will eventually show. The problem is the hood and scoop move separately and the only way to secure it is with rivets or zeus fittings, and then mud things up with fiberglass.

I prefer to get a molded hood or make a metal scoop and tig weld it in and lead things so the seam is invisible.
