i believe you're talkin about the 3rd brake light, correct? why swap? they're all red. i'm sure you could find one at almost any junkyard out of another X3 that fits perfectly. i took mine out, clear 3rd brake light.

There's got to be a site online that sells universal fitting third brake lights that don't look like @ss. I need to find one for my 05', but I'd like to go clear w/LED's. Anyone know of a good lighting website for us to look at?

with modification? Any. Just depends on how big your imagination is and, how deep your coinpurse is as well.

Which trim level do you have? If it's a GT I think you're screwed because of the shape, but you could get a custom lens made. If it's not, then jus about any 3rd brakelight housing should work I would think as long as you use the original wiring, and bulb. May need to modify it a bit though.

exactly what i was thinkin spool.......and ummmm dnt do altezzas!, you can always smoke your tails.....have someone spray them with clear with a dab of blk and ull have some nice new lookin taillights:smoking:

Never thought about smoking the third light. I did this to my side markers and they look great. BTW, my digital camera is broken, so when I buy a new one in a week or so, I'll start postig pics of my 05'.
