Hey all Im new here. All I have is a stock 2000 Accent...anyways heres my story...took a HOT girl out one night to the movies...got done and I was taking her back home and on the way I pull up to a stoplight, next to me was a 1998(guessing, it wasnt a 99 or +) so hes looking at the light HARD and Im like he wants to go, of course shes like no dont blah blah blah..so the light turns green and we take off, from the sound he had an auto, but in first I had him by a little bit but when I got to second I took off leaving him behind me went into third and started to slow down(too many cops in this neighborhood just what I need a 60 in a 25 or something) it wasnt a long or fast race but still I won and Im proud of it! Also raced my friends tib and beat him but he sucks at driving AHHAHAHA....more stories to come...putting on a CAI this week so Ill be looking for some races!

Beat your friends tib? I HIGHLY doubt that. Taking a Neon? Im not sure about that either dude. You are talking 92hp vs. 132 for the neon and then 140 for the tib. A civic, yes, that can be done. But a Neon and Tib is pushing it. Im sure those guys weren't trying.

Now, if you modded it. Well then, by all means you can take them out easily. Accent is very tuneable. But stock, no way. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Just because you have a different opinion about it, doesn't mean you have to put down his wins. You weren't there.

If he was claiming to have raced a Viper, then you can denounce it, Because that is totally un-realistic.

Just congratulate and if you have doubts, ask him personally by emailing him or something. Or asking in a nicer way at least.
That wasn't the best way to welcome him to our site.

Like I said he really sucks at driving we raced again and of course he did beat me....but the neon is a true story, like i said we only got to third gear Im not looking to get anymore tickets then I already have. Maybe if we woulda kept going he would have won but through third I won, I know I need to buy a damn videocamera for stuff like this!

I beat the crap out of a ZX2 yesterday.. and thats 105 vs. 130. The driver can have a lot to do with it.. along with weight and gearing, not just hp.

if a 1.6L accent can run 16.9 1/4 mile, I think it's HIGHLY possible.... and even Toyota ECHO can run 8.7 0~60(dunno about 1/4 time) so it is possible that Tibs can be beat by Echo's

Well, we all know that people who are inexpreienced don't know how to hit the redline, or double clutch, etc... so it's understandable. If your racing an automatic, you automatically (no pun intended) have an advantage. I can speak for the 2K accent, and I've beat tons of people who I shouldn't be beating....

Now i know this is a bit off the subject but i'm putting this question here because i just saw a post about double clutching right above this one. I've heard the tearm before but i've heard it in so many different situations that i'm not even sure what it really means. Could someone please put me back on the right page?

BTW i've also beaten cars that should have beaten me but if they are bad drivers or miss a gear when shifting that is their fault, and a win is a win no matter how you slice it.
