OK, I looked all over KORE forums, Tibby forums, Euro CAI I and II, and found nothing. The CAI systems connect just right before the MAF (in the cars equipped with MAF). So, are the CAIs for MAP engines different? Should they be different?

Yes, KORE is working on a CAI for MAP-based CAI's called the Euro-CAI.

OK <img src=/images/forums/snitz/smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0> Then that's what I need, I figure I'll have to wait until Dan develops it <img src=/images/forums/snitz/disapprove.gif width=15 height=15 border=0> but hey! I don't have the cash right now <img src=/images/forums/snitz/laugh.gif width=15 height=31 border=0><img src=/images/forums/snitz/laugh.gif width=15 height=31 border=0> so by the time it's ready I'll probably buy it.
Thanks 4doorGL <img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>

Hey Rob- So, wait- the '01 Elantra is MAP-based, right? I really wanna be careful when making my custom CAI- is there anything I should do special to that "accordian" part (the one that houses the MAPS?) just before the intake plenum? TIA <img src=/images/forums/snitz/smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

No offense dude but this is starting to get annoying. I have told you several times on multiple forums that THERE ARE NO SENSORS IN THE 01 ELANTRA AIR INTAKE PIPING. The MAP sensor is mounted on the intake manifold. Please do not ask this question anymore. I'm all for helping people, but not if they just ignore the help and keep posting the same question everywhere. Good luck with the intake <img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>
so 96 elantras have MAP sensors?
<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote>

NO, my 96 Elantra has a MAP sensor because I live in Peru, all Elantra models in the US ut to 2000 have MAFS, the 2001 uses now a MAP. In Europe and in Asia, Elantra uses MAP, but IMO due to more strict emission controls in the US, they used MAFS.
