i have elantra 99 .i wanna know if i can change my valve seal on the motor whit out take off the head off the motor .or any one already did it .

Yes. But this is a pushrod motor...



As long as it's a SEAL and not a SEAT, 90% of the time it can be done with the rocker cover off.

yes you can, I had to do it to my 4G15.

I used a length of thin rope fed through the spark plug hole and then hand cranked to TDC. the rope then fills the combustion chamber & holds the valves up while you remove the springs to get to the seals. do 1 cyl at a time & follow the firing order.

you'll need a valvespring compressor tool and I suggest also a magnet to aid in removing the keepers. the valveseals themselves can be pulled off using some pliers and a suitable sized deep socket works perfectly to drive the new ones on.

it took me a full weekend to do mine, but it was the first time I ever really worked on an engine before.
