Hey guys,

I am always in competition with my friends in whose exterior has the deepest, glossiest, wettest shine that catches your eye and makes your head turn. I have a floor cabinet full of car care supplies. I was searching some sites and I heard of a product called "Zaino". Everyone was raving on how good it was. Have any of you guys tried it? If so, is it any good. Also, what do you guys use on your cars?

Now, I would never bring my car to a detailer. That is because I detail cars right out of my house. My friends and family let me do theirs and of course pay me, because they see how well kept mine is. But I am in search of the product that will give my black Hyundai Elantra the best shine yet. My mom says its so shiny that it blinds a blind man, but I want it shinier damnit!

Zaino kicks a$$ just to let you know. I use: lets see if I can remember the numbers w/o going to get it..
Z-1 - show car polish/pre-cleaner (only use approx 2-3 times a year)
Z-2 - show car polish for clear coats
Z-7 - show car wash
Z-6 - gloss enhancer
----------------------------
This is the best stuff I swear by it

Meguiars is good, but leaves swirl marks. So that is why I am going to give Zaino a shot. I just ordered some...we ll see how it goes!

You guys only wax your car every 2-6 months??? Screw that!! I wax and polish my car EVERY OTHER WEEKEND! But I have a professional buffer, so it only takes me like 30 minutes to do it.

MySilverTiburon...I'm with you dude. I use Mothers as well. I've always liked them and thought they had excellent stuff for vehicles.

Every other weekend!? Damn, and people say Im crazy for waxing it that much every 2 months or so. lol. If I did it every weekend, my car would get hazy from all the wax, as it has in the past when I wax it too much because its black. Lighter colors don't show it that much. And swirl marks are shown more when I wax it more often. Oh well, they say the more zaino you put on, the stronger and deeper the shine and reduces swirl marks. People say its the best. We'll see

Well, that's the thing...I strip all the wax before I wax it again. I use dishwashing soap when I wash my car because it strips any grease or wax that's on it. Then I start off by doing a light coat of cleaner wax, then polish, then paint conditioner, and then good ol' 2 coats of Carnauba Wax. It's BLINDING when the sun hits it at any angle!

Ahem... I know you guys might think I'm crazy but I wax my car every weekend. It just doesn't make sense to wash it and not wax it IMO... and the smell, there's something about the scent of a newly waxed car that "completes me" (ala Jerry Maguire). I use Turtle Wax - express shine... done in 15 minutes.

Yeah, I like to do mine like once a week too. I can't stand to see any dirt on my baby. It's cool about Zaino though cuz after you use everything the first time, a simple wash does the trick.

I wash mine about once a week. I wax it once every month to 2 month. Every other wash, I put on a paint gloss enhancer that gives the car that just waxed look and that nice slick feel. I use to wax mine a lot more and it would build up and be hazy cause you see it more on a black car then any other. The gloss enhancer gives it that look, takes half the time and looks like it were just waxed

Redshark, you are right. That Zaino is among the best stuff I have ever used. And being that I have a floor cabinet and 4 shelves full of car crap, I have used everything out there! I tried it on my Jeep first, because it is 5 years old and not garaged kept with all the buildup over the years. I stripped the wax off. Claybared it. Put Z-1 on and and 2 coats of Z-2. Came out gorgeous. Paint feels like glass. I think that may be too abrasive for the Elantra, but in 2 years time...I will give it a shot

Hell, I must be abmormal or something. When I was entering IASCA comps, I was washing and waxing my car every other day. It was black, and showed every waterspot and dustmark, but by the time I was happy with it, I could use it as a shaving mirror.

Nah Melvyn....I mean, if you are competing with it, then its important to keep it looking its best. So I wouldn't call it abnormal. I compounded a 1997 For Explorer that has never been waxed. It had 70k miles on it and not garaged kept. Took me 6 hours, but mostly it all came up of tree sap and other crap burrowed in the paint. Destroyed my clay bar though. Oh well. $85 bucks for me
