RedShark, deffinately go with the vegas I have a 10" IT series, and ppl seriously think that I have a 12 or two tens in my car. Honestly, I know a friend with two 10" rockfords (lucky ass gets them dirt cheap cuz he works at a dealer!!), and I like my set-up more. It also has alot to do w/ you amp/sub combo. If you match the rms values of both pretty closely, you will be a really happy gal!

Why the discussion? You can't even compare the two speakers...sorry to the Rockford fans...

I was pretty happy with the Rockford Fosgate 15's that I had a few years ago. I wasn't going for bump as much as I was going for accurate reproduction of low frequencies (below 30 Hz). To do this, I had to pump A LOT of watts into them, but they are durable speakers.

I would venture a guess that the Cerwin Vegas probably are better than Fosgates in sound quality and efficiency.

Rockfords are better known speakers because for a while, everyone had them. I love my Mmatts subs though! Cheaper than JL's and the dBs on them are louder!

RedShark...here's a better idea. Instead of taking everyone's opinions..go out and listen to them and make your own opinion. No one can tell you which sub sounds better because all audio equipment sounds differently to everyone. The only thing people can do is compare factual specs of the two and give their opinions. I've heard both types of subs in the same type of car, vega's hit harder, but the rockfords seemed to have better sound quality. But thats just what I heard. I would just check out local stereo shops and go take a listen on both types of subs.
