Hello,

I have changed front brakes on cars many times. I have a 99 Accent GSi. I went to remove the front rotor and removed the 4 bolts between the wheel studs. The wheelstuds look like they are attached to a seperate metal plate that must be removed first?

QUESTION - Do I have to remove the centre axel nut to remove this plate to get the rotor off?

IF YES - What is the torque spec. on the axel nut when I reinstall it?

After searching on HMAService, yes, it looks like you need to remove the outer hub to get the brake disc out.
It also looks like (if that would be considered the driveshaft nut) that the tightening torque is 148-192 lb/ft
