what if ur filter hangs out the bottom of ur car below ur bumper..and when it rains it gets wet and **** spashes all over it? I just drive on paved roads, but it gets spashed im sure. I try to go so slow thru ANYTHING that looks like its even a little bit of water laying around. ..and theres no way it'd ever get submerged. So i really don't think a bypass would solve much. And theres so much tubeing for the water to have to move up.. i really don't think it'd get up there.

what i wanna know is, would hydrolock be something i should worry about?

...ive jsut got one tip. If u use pvc pipe and a pvc elbow, which u may have to do for lack of better materials... MAKE SURE u glue the pvc to pvc connections!

check out my other post for details, but my CAI came loose up in the engine just below the TB at a pvc elbow... even before the MAF and then...the piece i had from bumper to after the MAF ...fell off..and i hit it with my rear wheels. ($40 for the pipe..for a civic...$40 for the filter)

i don't even know how to DESCRIBE how i feel. both because the money lost...the CAI destroyed, or at least the most expensive part...or the fact that my engine could have been suckin in dirt and bugs (even tho i think if it was gonna suck unflitered air...it was sucking it from the most "protected" place ...right practially at the TB. ..or that fact that it was ALL MY FAULT! ugh... <img src=icon_smile_dissapprove.gif border=0 align=middle>
