The stock suspension on my accent has to go. I am stuck between getting the KORE full coilovers or a set of drop (eibach, apex, b&g, etc)springs and adjustable shocks.

My car is a daily driver, and will be for quite some time. I plan to do some drag racing and autocross, as well as the occasional time trial at the local race tracks. I also need the car to have good ride quality as I will be drving long distances every few months (like 600+ miles). Money is a consideration, but is not my main concern.

Any suggestions?

Get coilovers and never look back!

There is no comparison between coilovers and springs. Even for daily driving.

I would go with coilovers if you are willing to spend the extra $1000+

Of course dave, you know my opinion on this!! coilovers all the way if u have the money... they are adjustable springs aren't dude. Springs are mostly for look, coilovers are for true racers!!!

I'm sorry man, but what the hell was that guy talking about $1000?No disrespect or anything, but I recently bought the Weapon*R coil over/sleeve suspension kit for my 96' Accent from Nopi (you can get the phone# from any Super Street), and I only paid like 3 hundred and some for them! I would definately recommend them to anyone. However, if you buy them, for the love of god, buy upgrade shocks on the front and rear!! If not, you'll look like a bowl of jello bouncing down the road! I bought the KYB shocks for mine and they were only like 95 bucks each. Meaning $380 plus the coil overs $315 (not totally sure, but close) which equaled $695 plus a little for shipping! Oh yeah, buy coil overs!

Uhm, are you talking about True Coilovers or Coilover sleeves, I believe autobot was referring to "True Coilovers" which are around 1000 dollars or so, I'm buying apexi's true coilovers, they will be around 1400 dollars with a 4 inch drop, but they are light and a awesome product.

right lantra, that's what both I and autobot were taking about, adjustable suspension using spring... read coilovers... which are in the 1000+ category!

paccent, weapon r coils are a sleeve kit not true coilovers, thats why they were so cheap. true coilovers are well in the 1k range.

No sleeves, only the real deal or drop springs with adjustable shocks please. I prefer quality parts to semi ghetto show mods,

i forgot to post we will have a few styles of coilovers......

STREET........ full fledged coilovers using a large 44mm piston diameter and sport valved gas shocks integrated into their design. It uses the stock top mounts for a little more comfort and still utilizes a twin spring design with a full 0-4" adjustment.....manufacturered by one of the leading tuners in asia. $$$$$$ under 800.00

SPORT Our sport coilovers use a 44mm piston design gas charged shock incorperating a 10-12 way adjustment for stiffness thru a knob at the bottom of the strut tube. It uses an aluminum pillow ball mount on the top for camber adjustment and a more precise steering feel. It also uses the twin spring design as well giving a total adjustment range of 0-4" . $$$$$ about 1100-1300.00

FULL RACE -( special order) for those who want the best. these are it. These are on about 70% of the VENTUS Cup pro cars in Korea. These are either Tarmac Rally spec or Off road Rally spec full competition coilovers. THey incorperate fully adjustable shock valving, twin springs of your selection for rate and pilow ball mounts on top. These are THE SAME ones used by many to tuners LIKE (Signal auto,Boss, and other top tuners in Japan)

$$$$$$$$$ about 1600.00

All of these are available for most Hyundai models including : Tuscani, Tiburon, Elantra -2k, Elantra 2001-, Accent -99, Accent 2k-, Elantra 94, sonata -2000................
