I am looking into geting some coilovers for my 97 Accent. The only problem is how do i do I put them on? Is it more difficult than lowering springs? Such like this......

Hey kustom,

As far as I know the coilovers will be a simular job as doing your springs. The only difference that I see is that you won't have to take your old strut/spring apart, since you are not using anything off of them. I think you can just put together the coilover and then install it where the old strut/spring housing was.

Don't quote me on the above.

coilovers are actually easier to install then springs are. for the reason that chris said, therefore eliminating the use of a spring compressor. the coilovers just go right in.

Wait, are you planning on installing true coilovers or just coilover sleeves?

dang Rob you always gotta come in and complicate things....j/k :)

Ok Rob brings up a good point. If you are putting on true coilovers, then the explination above is what you are looking for.

For a sleeve-coilover!!! You are still using your stock strut housing, but will have to get a spring compressor and remove the stock springs. Then you take the sleeve and you will put it over the strut part itself, then you will put the new spring that comes with the sleeve, and then a top cap piece, then your stock top cap. There might be a few things that I am missing, but you get the idea. Also as you can see that sleeve-coilovers are much more of a bitch!

You can buy Weapon*R full coil over kit from Nopi in Georgia! You should also get the KYB gas shocks so you don't bounce like a moron! Right? I only paid about 695 bucks for everything and the handling is soo much better!

Do a search on Weapon R coilover sleeves. The general concensus are they are absolute ****. If I was gonna get sleeves i'd get KORE's sleeves, but imo sleeves are .

You need to quit turning good posts into flames.

Consider this a warning

I'll be the blue accent with Konig rims, a custom intake, btb, and (hopefuly) a full exhaust in the braket racing lanes or parked with the rest of the KORE Crew.

Oh yeah, with the true coilovers, not the ghetto sleeves.
