I am not sure if this should be in forced induction or here, since there is more alpha motor owners here i thought i would try here. Mods feel free to move it as you see fit.
Anyhow, i was wondering if anyone with a decompressed/low compression alpha motor (DOHC specifically) has ever done a compression test on their motor?
Fearing the worst i done one on my motor on the weekend and came up with the following figures: 175, 185, 185, 185psi. According to the webtech a stock motor should be around the 200 - 220psi mark with less than 14psi difference between cylinders. I am happy that my cylinders are within the 14psi tolerance, but i was wondering if the lower values are due to the lower compression (as i suspect).
I think your right but someone can verify this im sure. I havent done a compression test since I swapped blocks and have lowered the compression. Good question :smoking:
