I've got a 2001 Tib and I've had a small problem with it lately. The Air Bag light has come on and it won't go off, this is the second time it did it and the first time they told me it had something to do with the alternator. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem?
Second question, I haven't done any mods yet, I was wondering if anyone knows what all I can do without voiding the warranty? I'm sure I can change the air filter, but what all can I do?

Yup, my airbag light has been on for about 4 months now. I was told it was because of my sound system though. Whatever that means.

Ok for your airbag light, you need to take that to the dealer and have them check out what kind of code it is sending. It could be just a fuse or something.

As for the warrenty issuse. Federal Law prohibits the dealer from voiding the warrenty just for the hell of it. When u say install a cat-back, then your warrenty is voided on your exhaust system. When u install springs, your warrenty is voided on your suspension, catch my drift. Now say you have an intake on your car, and your transmission goes, the dealer under warrenty has to replace it, or other wise prove that your intake caused the transmission failure!

Yeah, my air bag light has been on for about half a year now. I don't pay any attention to it, it's not hurting my car any with it on.

Will the airbags still go off in an accident if the light is on <img src=/images/forums/snitz/uhh.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

If anyone here does mess with there air bag, the air bag wires are sheathed in yellow. Never unplug them or mess with a air bag without a grounding strap on your wrist and the battery disconnected. Static electricity will set them off. When your air bag light is on most of the time the air bags will not function. One possible draw back of that is that if you had a passenger in the car and him or her was killed due a non deploying air, you could be liable. If it was proved that you were aware of the problem and refused to fix, then the liability could come onto you. The solid propellant that deploys the air bag was origionally developed by NASA for there space program.
