My cd player has mood swings. I just bought my 2001 tib a week ago and sometimes when i shut the car off the cd player will make a winding sound or something...and some times it says error and wont play...what the hell is going on with this damn thing anyone else have any problems....i might just buy a different one, is it a double din?<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

I have a 2000 Elantra. When I first got mine, my Cd player was being a little sh1t also. It would say "Error", It would spit the damn cd back out at me, The speakers would sometimes make a static noise during a hot day when I would change the volume..Blah, Blah, Blah, When I would brake it would cut out, Then it started to skip on brand new cds! I took it to the dealer and had it replaced for free. I reccomend that you take it back and have them replace it also. My other one is starting to do the same thing. I'm just going to save money and buy a different one. My Subs still rock though! It's just the damn cd player has "Mood Swings".<img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle>

P.S. If you do take it in to get it replaced, make sure you take the Cd out first, because sometimes those guys are dumb and they leave it in, and you have to wait like 3 months to get your damn Cd back....because they have to ship it somewhere to get it out!<img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle>

Yes it is double din. Make the dealer replace it. This way even if you buy a new one when you sell the car you can put the stock back in if you want to.

hmm...why the hell so many people have problem with the cd player....i mean how hard is it to make a cd player that'll play a damn cd that pisses me off...My kenwood flipdown i had i shoulda made a commercial with...best i ever owned..oh well...they better not replace it with another junk one!

I just put a new Sony Xplod CD player in mine, and it kicks ass, even witht the factory speakers.

Thats the one I want. It will look good up against the Tib dash plus I love Sony. I think I will wait for the ones that play mp3 cds to go down in price.

Definately one of the few mistakes Hyundai made in the tibs was those damn cup holders. I'm afraid to put anything there for fear of spilling it in. BTW, I haven't had any probs. w/ my stock cd player. However anyone w/ help on aftermarket installs would be greatly appreciated

I had serious problems with my stereo. The dealer replaced it 3 times and it was screwed up each time. They told me hyundai has problems with their stereos. They send them back and rebuild them but there coming back f**ed up still!
