Can some1 tell me how the hell u painted ur dash??? I've been looking for paint on the net and found some but wasn't sure if it was hte rite kind, can't tell u what kind it was, cuz I don't remember. I painted my dash with dupli-color spray paint, the kind that changes 5 different colors. They sell it as a kit for $20. You can use any paint you want, normal spray paint or whatever. All you do is take all your screws out and pop it off and disconect all your wire harnesses, but just remember where they go. I had my dash painted red before I did the color changing paint and all I used was $3.00 spray paint and a can of clear and it turned out really nice

Not sure how many coats, I'd say 4 or 5??
Basically, until I was satisfied.
With a heat gun (TRUST ME GET ONE!!! IT'LL SAVE YA HELLA TIME) I'd say, including the door 6 hours or so,...
Can't remember, cuz I did it in sections,...

After I had that done for a while I decided I wanted some white face gauges. So while I was in there I painted the gauge holder and needle hubs silver to match my dash.

Just be warned that you will likely have a hell of a time getting the dash off. It isn't just a matter of removing screws... You are gonna have to disconnect all of the wiring that goes into the controls and remove all of the pieces from the part you want to paint.

Just make sure that the parts that are to be painted are soap and water clean before you start. Otherwise the paint will not adhear to the plastic properly resulting in a poor finnish.

I used MotoMaster paint and clearcoat to paint my dash. It could have used a couple more coats. Looks great but I am not totally happy with it yet.

Be prepared to spend an entire day at least. anything less is rushing it. You should be applying many light coats. Don't try to do it in one. You will get drips. Light coats are the key to an even finnish.

Take your time cause the reward is worth waiting for.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>
