I want to buy a muffler with a deep sound but I really don't want to pay for extra hp gains.
I want something cheap, with a deep sound, it doesn't matter if I gain hp or not. where can I get one.

If you want a deeper sound I would recommend getting rid of the resonator. My brother tried this on his DelSol and it worked great. You could probably just go to a muffler shop and have them make a straight pipe that hooks to the cat and muffler. IMHO the resonator is just extra weight. My favorite exhaust is on my RX-3. It has headers and a straight pipe that goes to a Supertrap on the back. Light cheap but a little loud. This car is only used for racing so the noise is not that much of an issue (though there is some restriction on db)

The Fireball is very high pitched. I've got a Focuz dual DTM tipped muffler that's pretty deep. Rob (4doorGL) has heard it.

Yeah mufflers will never give 8-10 hp gain... between 0.5-1.5 hp gain seems more resonable <img src=/images/forums/snitz/wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

Maybe on an Accent, but on some cars you can see alot of power. The LS1 powered F-bodies will gain about 30 RWHP from a 3" cat-back, and another 10 witha CAI. It all depends on how much power you start with and how restrictive the stock system is. My '96 Elantra made 127 HP at the flywheel, new. With just a cone filter (not even a CAI design) and a 2.5" cat-back, it now makes 125 HP at the tires.
