I am sure I am not the only one but a little while after I got my car I noticed that dents started showing up, I thought hollicans were comming up to my car at night and hitting it, but then I noticed it was whenever someone toughed my car, and I looked at most other hyundais on the road and I saw they also had a ton of dents in the door, I am forced to now park as far away from any other cars wherever I go, I fixed all the dents but I always fear the next. Does anyone else have this problem with their hyundai? I think Hyundai need to step up and make a better material for the doors like saturn with the no dent doors, or use a little bit thicker sheet metal, but anyway, ya I am done venting.

Good time with Good friends in Hyundais!

I have a nice little scuff but no dents as of yet. Did you take the dents out yourself? If so how did you do it?

You use a grinder to take all the paint off the dent then us a tool to pull out the dent, then use a nice small layer of skim to fill in and make it all even then repaint the panel you fixed the dents on

For little dents... Bondo. Theres no way you can completely remove a dent because the metal is stretched once it is dented. So if its a big dent, pull it, then bondo where you see the creases, and little dents, bondo then repaint.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

thats what i was saying, skim is like bondo man, it is automotive mud, but you dont want to just fill a dent with bondo because it will fall out if you hit a big pot hole and it shakes the car enough.

For small dents 1/8" deep or less. then bondo "body filler" is needed.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_dead.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_sleepy.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

i guess but you have to still sand around the dent so the bondo has something to stick to, because it doesnt stick well to paint.

when I first bought the tibby there was a slight outward dent on the hood

The dealership had me take the car to a dentech guy and he fixed it in about 30 minutes and he didn't paint or anything, it looks like brand new, I could hear him pounding on something and I was worried but once it was done it was beautiful

Ya outward bents you can sometimes just tap in but not always, depends on how severe it is but other dents you almost always have to pull. Or at my shop we do.

Superelantra, what you might be seeing on other Hyundais is defects in the sheetmetal. I noticed this on mine when I was washing it one day. At a certain angle, I saw a few marks that looked like a ding from a certain angle. Then I went closer and looked it at up close, and there was nohting there. No chip or mark where a door could have hit mine. I even felt it. No dip or anything. Its weird, I guess that is expected in a car of this class.

A few days after I bought the car washed and waxed it, I went to a picnic. Parked with enough room between cars. Car was looking great!
Several little kids were riding bikes around the cars. After the picnic walking back my car noticed 2 dents behind back passenger door. Sure enough one of the kids riding fell into the side of my car. There was a mark from his handle bar and one from his brake lever. I don't know which one it was, but I was ticked to say at the least! I like my vehicles clean and dent free, so I understand where you're coming from.

Doc

Going from point A to point B in a Hyundai! I may be old school, but have been driving Hyundai's for many years!

Damn straight man, i mean sure my car isnt a ferrari or anything but god damn i wish some of these **** heads would respect my **** and avoid hitting it with their doors or whatever else they like to dent my ride with. Lucky i never found someone parked next to me who hit my door or you better believe they would have a dent in their door size 11!!
