Which one is better to turbo in the x3? If both motors were built up pretty much the same will the dohc be able to take more boost then the sohc? The 1.5 dohc only came in the accent gt's right?

It`s much easier to turbocharge a SOHC Alpha, as you can use the manifold from an S-Coupe Turbo (still available from Hyundai dealerships.......or maybe scrapyards).

This will take any stock Garrett or ex-Nissan T2 Series Turbo (T20/T25/T28).....or of course, the original T15.

On a couple of sites now they make like 2 or so different turbo manifold designs for the x3. But arent alos the dohc pistons different? So the sohc could only use scoupe pistons?

we had a report of a DOHC accent blowing his motor at a claimed 180hp or 8 psi...? may have been improper tuning, not sure.
