I want to put the dragon intake on my 2001 tiburon. I noticed that there is a temp sensor on the air filter case. I assume this will not be plugged in when the dragon intake is on. Will that cause any problems? Like a check engine light comming on. If anyone knows let me know.

Agreed with everyone.
Get a KORE, MHP, Speedstate or the SR one (coming out shortly)
If you're still wanting the Weapon R, don't, just go buy a cone K&N filter and stick it on. Will have the same effect, and way cheaper.

And yes, you have to plug all the sensors back in, that one measure temp,... you will either get a CEL, or you car will react differently, cuz the temp amount of Cold air going in from the filter is not the reading that the sensor will give.

He did ask for a recommendation after AUTOBOT dogged the Weapon R intake It's not like we are boycotting Weapon R just because. When that intake came out, I tried to get in contact with them to purchase the intake multiple times and got no response. And then the issue with the foam filter flaking off into the engine. That's been fixed I think, but since when can't we recommend another product we think is superior? Peeps on here do it all the time

coupe2k, this second explanation of yours was much better. I deleted the comments because 4 people came on and told him that he wasted his money. Now, let's answer his original question .

I thought he hadn't bought it yet. I mean if I came on here asking about a PaceSetter exhaust, I'd hope someone would slap me silly before letting me buy it

hi everyone. I have not bought a intake for my car yet. Just really wanted opinons about any intakes that are good for the tib. The sensor I'm talking about is on the air filter case, I checked the hyundai site and it was refered to as an air temp sensor. So from comments KORE is good?

KORE intake is a good intake...it is polished alluminum and connects right to your MAFS and runs down into you fender-well. It has a nice deep sound to it and has a whole for that temp sensor.

alright man,... i have a weapon R, so i should talk as much **** as i want
as for the sensor, stick into one of the tubings they send you. you will get about 4. Yes your weapon R will not be one of those nice pipes they advertise. you will get something like a 5 piece set. if you want, i can show a pic of how the outcome will be.
as a matter of fact ill do that now.
As for the reading
YOU WILL GET A CORRECT READING, although it doesnt have a hole, you can get it to work. If you have the cold air version, YOU WILL GET THE READING FOR COLD AIR. I have verified it through a data logger. Although i do regret buying this intake, if you work hard at it, you can make it perform just as good or better than the intakes out there. I think you should just save time and money and buy another. I will look nicer you wont have to mess with it in order to get it to work right.

since this forum does not allow us to quote, your going to have to go get it yourself.
go to the NA forum
make sure you have it set to 30 days.
go all the way down where it says, dragon intake information.
there are 2 pics of my engine.
both are from the weapon R, and this was BEFORE it was modified. so if you do it like the instructions say so, you will get something like that.
btw, my engine is clean now
ahead of time i would like to respond to the future insults of MY weapon R

Yea look around, and make your own decision. If you really want the most gains out of an intake, ask for pics. Youll be able to see if an intake is too close to the engine bay, or if its not a real CAI, just a ram air. Ive seen pics of the KORE CAI, but ive never seen it personnaly so i cant comment on it (but it does look real nice :) ). The modified weapon R gets some good gains and cold get some TRUE cold air, but its a bitch to get it there and it looks like ass. Ive seen the SR one in person, and the design is great, and does the job, but i dont know what the final product will look like.
point is, look around and see the pics. Youll be able to determine how effective it is by just using logic.
