I know this is a dumb question but where is the ignition at?

The ignition is a system of different parts so it's impossible to answer your question. Please rephrase. What part are you looking for?

well a bought a shift light and it says to hook it up to a standard ignition

You need to slice the hot wire to something that is only on when you turn on ignition.

Or you can plug into Fuse Box

Plug it into the fuse box thats what I did it worked just fine.
