The E-Brake handle just twists off. You have to use some elbow grease though. Just start twisting, and then pull forward. It should come off easily once you get it started. This is the handle that I have in my car:

I have the red and carbon fiber one. I got it from JC Whitney. Click Here to check out the site. <img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>

You are going to need to remove the center console completely.

Pull the shifter boot assembly off. It should just pop right off (no screws).

Then I beleve there are 6 screws that hold the console in place. one in the front, one in the middle and one near the seatbelt latch near your hip all on both sides.

Pull the console to the rear of the car and it should pop right off. The e-brake boot should slide off over the handle. Make sure that the e-brake is engaged for easier removal.

From there you should be able to unscrew the boot from the inside.

There is more info on this in the short shifter instal page on the Speedstate site here:http://www.speedstate.com/Hyundai_Section/Hyundai-Do-It-Yourself__Guide/Hyu-Short_Shift/hyu-short_shift.html

Hope this helps.
