I don't know much about ecu's. if i put a new 4g63t engine into a hyundai excel, i will need an ecu. What is a piggy back ecu and where can i get one? would it just be better to use the mitsubishi ecu?

we did a swap with a 4g62 na into a x2 and used all the lantra harnes, ecu and sensors from the donor car. then when we bolted in the 4g61t we used a sonata ecu and the turbo vortex airflow as the na one didnt reconise boost conditions, we did however change the injectors till the full boost fuel ratio was right. its a bit lot rich at idle but good at full tilt. tried a piggy back ecu to catch the signals from the engine sensors and change them to trick the engine into the tune you need but , we used a unichip system and it was a dismal faliure, not only was it poorly executed, the factory backup was non existent to thier own dealer. in the end we just raised the fuel injector size till we got it safe at boost
The guys at P.S.I in joondalup in perth were great with getting all tuned in the end<img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>
