Electrical Problems

Yeah, i've been having some electrical problems and battery problems. Its been happening for a while now, just that yesterday it was really bad. The thing is that when im sitting at idle for a while, the RPMs would jump and the lights would dim or shut off completely until i start to accelerate. Before that happened, my car needed to be jump started and it would die easily. Is this an alternator problem? If I have an underdrive pulley, would hyundai cover the alternator? If its not the alternator what else can it be? I recently changed the battery, so I know its not that.

Yeah thats your alternator, better have it checked/changed fast.
Yeah..it was reading 10.50 something V. How much will a new alternator cost? I saw some online for 300, are there any cheaper ones? And can I use a larger AMP?
You prolly dont need a larger amp one. You can get one at autozone for $150 or less if i remember right, i had a spare laying around.
I got a new alternator and everything, but when the guy checked the battery charge, the only time it was 13+Volts was when i accelerated, when it was on idle it went to 13 and under Volts. Also, the fans are always on. What can the problem be? If its not the alternator giving me low electric charge, what else can be the problem?

what do you mean "and under volts". the voltage is usually around 12v, and 13~14 while the alternator is spinning faster (aka driving)
It was reading LOW on the battery checker when on idle. Is that normal? Because the guy at the shop was wondering why it was reading low on the battery charger at idle..and went back to OK when they accelerated.
Can the underdrive pulley cause something like this? I don't really remember, but i think the problem with this came after i installed the pulley.
Well the whole point of an underdrive pully is to wind up faster by having a smaller radious. Meaning that one revolution of the oe pulley is probably 1.2 revolutions of the underdrive pulley (just a guess on that 1.2 measurement) so yeah your alternator is probably spinning a little slower than before.;):
So if the battery tester says Low when in idle, it's normal and OK? Right?
If you tested it right after changing the alternator chances are the battery was still low. You need to give it time to charge back up before you see the voltage rise. The battery will draw the current until its got a good charge....
Yeah..so the car doesnt start up again after installing and spending so much to get the alternator. What can it be? It seems like if I use all electronics stuff, like wipers, fan, headlights and all the light gets real dim and the car wont start the next day. When I tried to start up yesterday, i hear this loud and continuous ticking sound but it wont even turn over. Is this the starter? It was coming from the left side from what i could hear.
